hey guys!
as a way of studying and spreading my knowledge in the magic world of art history i am here to give insight of things you might have not learned at high school as well as those who want a heads up in art history career. in this segment i am going over an empire in the middle east/india called mughal   which is here:
www.classzone.com/cz/books/ms_…
anyone who doesnt want to learn any history whatso ever can just disregard this journla/ upcoming journals all together :) to each use the knowledge of there own. as for ones who stay heres my wording of it all

has absolute monarch rule with smaller noble households( its like a central president with state governor kinda system only with  empirors and noble men.)

this empire was created in india due to overland travel, trade in technology, and limited time with portugeuse/ English.

What was the Mughals patron for art?

,any illustrated books/ layered paper paintings (called kar-khana books) that are ourside of religious beliefs(hindu, buddist and islam.) in South Asia.

Begin of Mughal painting

The first painters came from  central Asia and Persan afavid  amd timurid by Humayun  to serve thce court during Akbar’s rule.

These paintings were layered paper works created by a team of artists that mostly focused on visual composition(or how the image is arranged to tell a story.) subtle tones( pastel colors.) foreshadowing, and complex arrangement of figures in an landscape.

A great example of this kinda work is  a court system fallio from a manuscript of sadis gulstan by bawaswan.

What kinda patronage during akbars rule was requested?

Religious narrative(AKA visual  narrative of a story of a religious event.)- examples are hamza Nama(a photo story of the adventures of the phophets unce hamza.)
www.metmuseum.org/toah/images/…

  History painting

Showing how powerful Akbar is. Example is Abar Nama(undertaken by Bsawan)  a European influencd piece showing Abkar rulinh over a smaller kindom using elephants.

(this is what the painting looks like)

How did arrival of Europeans influenced Mughal?

First  from Akbar collecting religious [aintings for them created commission (since nmost patrons at this time were royality.) such as the deposition from the cross . created religious narrative paintings and Europeans aspects such as the halos and angels to appear later on late akbars rule and Jahngir’s  patrons as a sign to show celetral powers of the emporer.

How did janhangir’s rule affected commissions in paintings?

He patroned more of :

Naturalism- capturing nature studies. Makigna more realistic vision of certain animals/landscapes.

Portraits/power-used symbolism portraits to symbolize diplomoatic relations/power dispite him actually being sortve a playboy.

Example- inbishanda’s portrait of jahangeir with shah abbas he is displayed as taller and healthier then shah teven though in realism he would be the weaker one.

Interest in death-  capturing a event or scene that would not usually be witnessed by artist to capture the moment of janjirs dying body in the painting the dying inayar khan. Where artist drew him dying from overuse of opium and alchohal abuse  later to be displayed after his death.

 What are late allegorical paintings?

Symbolic, euroinfluenced paintings from the Mughal painting during jahanger’s rule  that focused on mainly making the rular seemed powerful, mystical and celesal. Using small details and aspects/ icons from euro paintings incorporated in early Mughal painting.

Example- janhangir (1627) where the emperor is sitting onto of an hourglass.

if you guys would want a picture refence to any of the works mentioned let me know ^^ as for know onto the next section: china Quing dynasty
